The Progress Pride Flag was raised on June 1 at Berkeley Lab to celebrate the month of Pride. June is the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in 1969 as the sexual orientation and gender minorities community fought for civil rights and also the first Christopher Street Liberation Day March in 1970.

A rechargeable-battery material was imaged at the atomic scale at both the ALS and Molecular Foundry. From the images, a machine-learning algorithm extracted a fundamental material property relevant to battery failure. At age five, Antoine Snijders would explore nature and watch birds. That interest in the natural world later morphed into a formal interest in biology and medicine. He studied biomedical sciences at college in Amsterdam and then as an exchange student at UC San Francisco. Over nearly nine years, the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment captured 5.5 million interactions from subatomic particles.
