Senior Scientist Susannah Tringe, known for her work in advancing the field of metagenomics, is the new director of Bioscience’s EGSB Division after serving as the interim division director. UC Davis Chancellor Gary May has joined the Lab Advisory Board, which is charged with providing advice to the Lab Director and UC about the scientific and operational aspects of the Lab. The director of the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division, Bill Collins, has been named a 2020 American Geophysical Union Fellow, one of 62 individuals named to this year’s class. This week the Lab has proposed to DOE to move into Federal Phase 2 and add an additional 300 workers at the Lab sites starting September 28.
