Newark Electronics is hosting a vendor show on the ALS patio from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Last week, Berkeley Lab’s Computing Sciences Area and the Association for High Speed Computing launched the first Monterey Data Conference. Berkeley Lab will participate in a DOE cyber defense competition Nov. 15-16 that uses interactive, scenario-based events to engage college teams in cybersecurity activities. Two Berkeley Lab scientists participated in an Aug. 11 event at the Lawrence Hall of Science that recognized the Lab’s contributions to the periodic table. Twelve early career scientists will go head-to-head in the second annual Berkeley Lab SLAM on Sept. 19. The finalists will vie for a grand prize of $3,000.
