The Lab’s coffee bar is closing at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 to allow for the set-up of the reception following the Director’s Awards ceremony that afternoon. The coffee bar will open again on Monday at 6:30 a.m.
Steve Whitelam (Molecular Foundry) was the winner of the men’s group with a time of 9:54.4, while Jennifer Doyle (Engineering Division) won the women’s group with a time of 12:07.7. David Diamond (EHS) won the T-shirt design contest. Click for to view a video and slideshow of the event.

The Lab is starting a “Lab Buddy” program to match up those new to the hill with those who have mastered most of the hills and staircases that give the hill site its charm. Gong Chen won the Foundry’s Choice award with an image from the Spin Polarized Low Energy Electron Microscope (SPLEEM), while Alexander Mueller’s image of a polymer electrolyte film won the People’s Choice.
