The Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division hosted an Industry Day 2020 event last Saturday to connect with construction managers and subcontractors interested in working with the Lab. Information on the bid process, requirements, and small business registration was shared.

Computing Sciences Area postdocs will give presentations on their work during a two-day symposium, Jan. 30 to 31, in Building 59-3101 (Wang Hall ). The Lab is hosting its annual Nuclear Science Day for Scouts on March 21. The event brings local Boy and Girl Scout troops onsite for tours and demos. The Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative will host its Annual Energy Summit Feb. 6 to 7 on the UC Berkeley campus. This year’s summit focuses on energy’s role in combating climate change. To conclude the end of 2019’s International Year of the Periodic Table, Berkeley Lab hosted a contest for local high school students in which they described their favorite element using words, images, or video. This five-day workshop is designed to familiarize users with the Integrated Microbial Genomes & Microbiomes (IMG/M) data and workflows for computational analysis and interpretation of sequence data.
