Women’s History Month honors those who have made positive inroads for women, particularly in fields traditionally dominated by men, such as science. One such woman is Lab physicist Mary Gaillard. Karen Evans, DOE Assistant Secretary for the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response, visited the Lab on March 5. The Deep Learning for Science School, to be held July 15-19, 2019 at Berkeley Lab, will bring together researchers and engineers from the DOE Office of Science community for lectures and tutorials on state-of-the-art deep learning methods and best practices for running deep learning on HPC systems. https://dl4sci-school.lbl.gov/home

The Schmidt Science Fellows, supported by Eric and Wendy Schmidt, visited on March 1 to learn more about the Cyclotron Road program and tour the Molecular Foundry (pictured with Sinéad M. Griffin).
