Bring a Kid to Work Day on April 17 HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Volunteers are needed to do morning registration, chaperone, help out at activity stations, guide tours, and assist with event organization. Deputy Lab Director Horst Simon met recently with graduate students who are participating in a Berkeley Lab-Cal State University East Bay internship program. The Oakland Unified School District is hosting a “Dinner With a Scientist” on May 4 and a science fair on May 13. Volunteers are needed to plan camp activities for Science Accelerating Girls’ Engagement in STEM (SAGE-S), hosted by the Lab. The focus is on innovation, experiencing the everyday life of a scientist or engineer, and meeting women in STEM.
