SAGE-S is a SLAC and Berkeley Lab summer camp for high school students that allows scientists, engineers, and staff to share information on life as a STEM professional. In July, 17 high school students completed the Berkeley Lab Director’s Apprenticeship Program. Led by Lab staff, particpants learned Python programming, conducted home research projects, and heard career talks. Someone in the U.S. needs blood on an average of every two seconds, but blood donations have dramatically decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consider donating blood at a City of Berkeley-sponsored drive on August 4 at Berkeley High School.
