Annual parking stickers for Lab’s parking placards will no longer be issued. Anyone entering the Lab’s main site will need to swipe their badge at the gate, and an active badge allows you to park in a designated space. Due to crane lift activity, Parking Lot Y and the road in front of Building 15 that provides access to Parking Lot Y will be closed on Thursday, June 3, from 12:01 a.m until noon. Storm drain pipe lining work will start on Monday, April 19, and continue for two weeks. Crews will be working along Lawrence, Glaser, and McMillan Roads. A tree removal contractor working for Pacific Gas and Electric will remove 41 eucalyptus trees on the hill between Building 77 and Lawrence Road as part of a wildland fire reduction plan. One of the Lab’s colorful shuttles was the first vehicle on the newly named Kala Bagai Way in downtown Berkeley. The two-block stretch, which is the fork in Shattuck Avenue between University Avenue and Center Street, was named for one of Berkeley’s first South Asian residents. http://www.downtownberkeley.com/kalabagai/

Six new Lab shuttles, wrapped in colorful designs from the Lab’s Creative Services team, are turning heads on East Bay streets as they carry passengers to and from Lab sites.
