In response to PG&E’s public safety power shutdown last week, Berkeley Lab teams worked together over a six-day period to safely bring the Lab’s power down and then bring the Lab back up again. “We worked together as one Lab,” said COO Michael Brandt, praising the efforts of all involved. https://youtu.be/BuWB1eLD9b0

University of California President Janet Napolitano has announced she will step down on August 1, 2020, after seven years in the position. A high-level delegation from the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, led by its president Otmar Wiestler (pictured), visited the Lab this week to discuss research and explore potential collaborations.
