New Cafeteria Charge for Disposable Cups
The cafeteria charges 25-cents for disposable cups to meet a new City of Berkeley ordinance effective Jan. 1. If you bring your own cup, you will receive a 25-cent discount on your beverage. The cafeteria also charges 25-cents per ‘clamshell’, the hinged disposable, compostable take out container.

Power Shutdown in Buildings 30, 33, and 7
Buildings 7, 30, and 33 will have power shut off beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 13) so that crews can improve the buildings’ electrical systems. Power should be restored to the buildings by 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Coffee Bar Hours Changing
Starting Dec. 2, the coffee bar hours of operation will be 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Health Services, Shuttles, Cafe Hours Adjusted Today
The cafeteria and the coffee bar will close at 1 p.m. today. Health Services will close at 2 p.m. The afternoon schedule for Rockridge, North Berkeley, and Upper Hill shuttles will run from 2 to 5 p.m.
New Card Readers for Vending Machines Installed
West Coast Vending has begun installing new card readers on the Lab’s vending machines. This upgrade will make purchases with credit cards easier and more reliable. A 10-cent transaction fee will be charged when purchases are made with a credit card.

Sign the IGB Welcome Banner Friday in Cafeteria
All are invited to sign a welcome banner to be hung at the Integrative Genomics Building when the first group of employees moves in next Tuesday. The banner will be in the cafeteria Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ETA’s Lara Gundel has watched the construction and is excited to meet the neighbors.
