On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Dr. Asmeret Berhe as Director of the Office of Science at the U.S. Department of Energy. Berhe is a professor at UC Merced whose research is broadly focused on soil science and global change science. The Lab will host 12 out of the 80 students selected for the most recent DOE’s Office of Science Graduate Student Research program.
