Traffic Changes on Lawrence Road Beginning Feb. 19
Traffic will be limited on a portion of Lawrence Road near the Centennial Road overcrossing Feb. 19-20 and 26-28. The drilling construction activity will also temporarily close about 20 parking spaces along Lawrence Road near Strawberry Gate. Storm Drain Repair Work This Week
Crews will be working on storm drain piping near Bldgs. 76, 66, and 31 today through Thursday evening. Detours and traffic controls will be set up in these areas from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening. Power Shutdown in Buildings 30, 33, and 7
Buildings 7, 30, and 33 will have power shut off beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 13) so that crews can improve the buildings’ electrical systems. Power should be restored to the buildings by 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Welcome to the First Group of JGI Employees
JGI employees from the DNA sequencing group are the initial group to occupy Building 91, the Integrative Genomics Building, as of Tuesday morning. Some of their supplies were unloaded on Monday. Other groups will move in over the next few weeks.
Sign the IGB Welcome Banner Friday in Cafeteria
All are invited to sign a welcome banner to be hung at the Integrative Genomics Building when the first group of employees moves in next Tuesday. The banner will be in the cafeteria Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ETA’s Lara Gundel has watched the construction and is excited to meet the neighbors.
IGB Neighbors Moving In Beginning Nov. 5
On Nov. 5, the first 55 employees from the Joint Genome Institute will move into the Integrative Genomics Building (IGB). The rest of the JGI and KBase staff will move in waves, with all moved by the end of the year.
