Lab Takes Part in National Lab Day Student Outreach

Workforce Development & Education (WD&E) seeks mentors in scientific, engineering, and technical fields to work with undergraduates, teachers, and faculty collaborators. Lab Participates in DOE STEM CON Event in Chicago
The Lab’s K-12 program participated in STEM CON, an outreach event to showcase AI research at national labs. Visitors stopped by interactive booths to learn about virtual reality, computer programming, and data visualization. Submissions Sought for NanoDay Art Contest
National NanoDay is Oct. 9 and to help celebrate, the Lab’s K-12 office and the Molecular Foundry are inviting Bay Area students to submit nano-related illustrations. Bldg. 2 Conference Room Spruced Up for Education Visits
With an expanding number of students making educational visits, the Lab’s K-12 office upgraded the Bldg. 2-100B conference room. The space was painted a brighter color, and carpet was removed to accommodate hands-on activities. New tools were also purchased to enhance onsite workshops. https://k12education.lbl.gov/news
Physicists Sought for LHS Exhibit
The Lawrence Hall of Science is looking for physicists interested in inspiring young people and helping them think about careers in STEM. Scientists will have their pictures and biographies included in a traveling exhibit focused on teaching fundamental physics principles to students grades K-8. https://k12education.lbl.gov/volunteer
